Yamaha Pro Watercraft Racers take P1 Aquax Round 2

Yamaha team riders are in it to win it all! The pro watercraft racers made a clean sweep of the podium with their wins in Enduro Pro during the second round of the P1 AquaX Pro Series. The event was held at St. Pete Beach, FL June 16th and 17th.

Rider Eric Francis, leaves the event undefeated after two rounds of the series. He was joined at the podium by two other Yamaha GP1800 riders; Brian Baldwin and Aero Aswar. Baldwin grabbed second and Aswar took third. The overall win catapulted Francis to number one in the world rankings.

The heat and humidity took a toll on GP racer Chris MacClugage. The two to three foot choppy conditions on the water didn’t help MacClugge either. He was out of sorts all weekend and long race delays made matters worse for him. He finished second in Moto 1 and wasn’t able to finish Moto 2. His body couldn’t take it. Unfortunately for MacClugage, this allowed Francis to overtake him in the rankings. MacCluglage ended his run with a ninth.

Baldwin’s consistent riding style led him to finish 3 and 2 for the weekend. In spite of mechanical failures, Aswar managed to grab the third spot on the podium. Yamaha riders finished the round strong, securing the top five positions, with Aswar and Saxon taking fourth and fifth.

P1 AquaX racing moves to Sarasota, Florida on June 30th where we’ll see if the Yamaha GP 1800 riders continue to dominate.
