An international field of riders will be heading to Florida’s Gulf Coast this weekend, November 2-3, for the final round of this year’s SBT P1 AquaX race series in Clearwater. Hosted by the Sheraton Sand Key Resort and with Cycle Springs Powersports as the presenting sponsor, the Grand Prix will feature both PRO and Amateur classes.

P1 USA Director of Operations, Michelle Petro explained that it will be a challenging weekend for the Pro Enduro racers: “With Hurricane Milton forcing the cancellation of the previous round in St. Petersburg earlier this month, we have scheduled six races for the Pro class. This means that there will be lots of points on offer and we can expect fierce competition with national titles to be won.”

Dustin Farthing has a significant lead at the top of the Pro standings, but his son Deven in second place will be very much aware that Chris Macclugage is less is only 27 points behind him. In turn, Macclugage will be looking over his should at Tory Snyder and Jay Edworthy who, with the same number of points, are less than 20 points adrift.

The leading contenders in the Amateur 300 class include riders from the United States, New Zealand, Canada and the Cayman Islands. Just 40 points cover the top five riders, with Ian Smith looking to hang on to his 19 point lead at the top of standings. In the Amateur Enduro 200 class, Monster Energy MACC Racing’s Cooper Caldwell has a comfortable lead over Peruvian racer Enrique Chia.

Petro added: “I’m very pleased to welcome Cycle Springs Powersports, part of the Dimmitt Automotive Group, as the presenting sponsor of this event. This family-owned franchise dealership is located in Clearwater, offering a full line-up of on-and-off-road vehicles and recreational watercraft, and we look forward to continuing our partnership next season.” The Group’s Andrew Riffee said: “Cycle Springs Powersports is thrilled to partner with P1 for the final AquaX event of the season. Supporting enthusiasts and offering recreational opportunities to our customers is one of our core values. We believe our sponsorship reflects a natural synergy between our lifestyle brands and the competitive spirit of the AquaX race series.”

Racing will start at 11.30am on Saturday and 10.30am on Sunday, with the race awards and 2024 national championship trophies being presented at a ceremony on Sunday evening at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort.
