The 2024 P1 AquaX race season had its share of twists and turns, including a true rarity – a dropped race after Hurricane Milton put the nix on the St Petersburg round. But while weather may have dealt some jokers, and there were definitely wildcards in play throughout the season, it was also a season full of strong winning hands, bold challengers, prolonged battles, and a series of exciting, no-holds-barred motos.
Below, you’ll find the top racers from the Clearwater race in both Pro and Amateur, and the top finishers in Season Standings, but first, we’ll take a look at the Clearwater race from an insider’s viewpoint, with the Monster Energy/Macc Racing report from Clearwater!

The Monster Energy MACC Racing team delivered a thrilling performance in the final round of the P1 AquaX race series at Clearwater Beach last weekend. After the cancellation of the previous round in St. Petersburg due to Hurricane Milton, the stakes were high, with Chris MacClugage and Tim Miller vying for national championship points.
Chris MacClugage’s Resilient Comeback Secures Championship Podium Chris MacClugage faced early setbacks with a breakdown in Race 1 and a collision in Race 2 caused major damage to his jet ski jeopardizing his title hopes. However, thanks to the relentless efforts of MACC Racing’s mechanics, MacClugage returned with a vengeance on day two. In a captivating Race 4 showdown with Eric Lagopoulos, Chris executed one of his signature mid-race passes, clinching his first victory of the weekend.
Building on this momentum, MacClugage delivered an exceptional performance in Race 5. With an impressive start on his Monster Energy Ski, he maintained his lead from beginning to end. This decisive win earned him crucial points, securing 3rd place in the overall P1 AquaX Championships.
Another Solid Performance from Tim Miller Tim Miller has showcased consistency throughout the entire P1 AquaX season, achieving his best result with a 5th place finish in Clearwater. His efforts significantly contributed to Monster Energy MACC Racing’s 3rd place finish in the 2024 P1 AquaX Team Championship. After returning to AquaX racing this year, Miller reached his goal of a top 10 finish in the overall championship, securing 7th place.
Cooper Caldwell Wins P1 AquaX AM 200 Championship in His Rookie Season Monster Energy MACC Racing’s Cooper Caldwell has had an outstanding season, winning the P1 AquaX AM 200 Championship by dominating the first four rounds. With the title already secured before the final round, Caldwell tested his skills in the AM 300 Class, where he showed great promise for next season. Despite a breakdown causing a DNF in Race 1, Cooper finished strong with two 4th places in Races 2 and 3.
Monster Energy MACC Racing also welcomed Spanish riders Enrique Garcia and Andoni Gutierrez for their debut in the US P1 AquaX Championship. Enrique took the win in race 3 to mark off a great weekend with a 2nd place overall finish in the AM 200 Class. Meanwhile, Andoni showcased his tenacity in the highly competitive AM 300 Class, finishing 5th in Race 1 and 6th in Race 2 out of a field of 26 riders.
In what’s been a thrilling season, the Monster Energy MACC Racing Team extends a huge thank you to Dean’s Team Racing, P1 AquaX, all our fans and sponsors. Our success on track and amazing memories created with friends and family would not have been possible without your unwavering support!

While PWC Racing in the US is getting set to batten down the hatches in prep for the winter season – with World Finals in Havasu complete, P1 AquaX Championship in the books, and no Naples World Finals from Pro Watercross this year – both racers and race fans can still get their fill of on-the-water action as international racing gets set for some of the most anticipated events of the year.
But before we get to Thailand, the best of the best in PWC racing will be headed to Lake Toba on the Indonesian island of Sumatra for the UIM-ABP Aquabike Endurance World Championship.
Set for the end of this week, Nov. 13-15, the race will feature 24 entrants from a dozen countries, including last year’s #2 podium spot finisher, American Anthony Radetic.
Proving that the “endurance” part of the championship title is well-earned, it will take top placing in six motos over three days of racing to claim the championship. Riders will compete for the Karo Cup over two heats from the village of Tongging on November 13th and then move on to the towns of Silalahi and Parapat to race for the Dairi and Simalungun Cups on November 14th and 15th.

For the second year, the stunning volcanic Lake Toba on the Indonesian island of Sumatra will host the UIM-ABP Aquabike Endurance World Championship on November 13th-15th.
Twenty-four entrants from a dozen countries graced the impressive entry list at the start of this week and they include several of the most famous names in world aquabike racing.
The in-form and recently crowned European Endurance champion François Medori could well be the hot favorite to continue his winning streak although last year’s World Runabout GP1 World Champion will be aiming to defend that title as well over the five days of racing on Lake Toba and will need to be in peak physical fitness to cope with the intense humidity and energy-sapping heat.
One of Medori’s closest match-ups will be against his Easy Rider team boss and racing legend Teddy Pons, who is also making the trip to Indonesia. Portugal’s Lino Araújo won the first of the European Endurance Motos in Vichy in the summer and will be aiming for success in the six Motos over three days alongside fellow countryman Anderson Dos Santos Gouveia. Meanwhile, neighboring Spain will be represented by Ruben Jimenez Riquelme and Aitzol Beristain.
Further European interest in the three days of grueling racing comes from Swede Johan Johansson, Hungary’s György Kasza and the Italian quintet of Michele Cadei, Lorenzo Benaglia, Alberto Santini, Ezio Lucchese and Serb Slobodan Sobic, who has entered under an Italian racing license.
Kylie and Cliff Ellmers make the trip from New Zealand and Queensland-based Scott Phillips – the Australian Pro Open Runabout Endurance champion – will represent Australia. Aquabiking is a fledgling racing discipline in the People’s Republic of China and the appearance of both Chen Shan and Rui Huang is sure to stoke further interest in the most populated country on the planet.
Neighboring Thailand will be represented by Permphon Teerapatpanich, the experienced Jun Ikoma and Isahai Hajime have entered under the Japanese flag and there are two Cambodian entries for Ou Mouet Saly and Filin Saly. American Anthony Radetic completes the line-up: he finished second in last year’s inaugural World Endurance encounter in Indonesia.
The northern Sumatran venue hosted the stand-alone three-day championship for the first time in 2023 and French veteran racer Jean Bruno Pastorello emerged victorious from three days of racing for the Karo, Dairi and Samosir Cups. He earned 154 points to beat Radetic to the title by just five points with Kuwait’s Rashed Al-Dawas, Emirati Rashed Al-Tayer and Johan Johansson rounding off the top five. Twenty-two riders scored points over the three days.
Six Motos over three days of racing will decide the outcome of this year’s championship as well. Riders will compete for the Karo Cup over two heats from the village of Tongging on November 13th and then move on to the towns of Silalahi and Parapat to race for the Dairi and Simalungun Cups on November 14th and 15th.
The opening ceremony will take center stage in Tongging from 11.00hrs (GMT +7) on November 13th and this precedes the two 35-minute endurance races for the Karo Cup, starting at 11.30hrs and 14.00hrs, respectively. Riders will then return to Pangururan on the western shores of Samosir Island for the night halt.
A transfer from Pangururan to Silalahi precedes the Dairi Cup on November 14th with both Motos starting at similar times to day one before the return transfer to Pangururan. A transfer to Parapat on the eastern shoreline of Lake Toba takes riders around Samosir Island to the start location for the two Simalungun Cup Motos. These are scheduled for 11.30hrs and 14.00hrs and are split by a Freestyle show to entertain the crowds, starting at 13.40hrs. After the customary daily prize giving ceremony, riders will return to Pangururan.
The spectacular volcanic Lake Toba forms part of the Toba Caldera UNESCO Global Geopark and is one of five UNESCO global geoparks in Indonesia. It is one of Indonesia’s Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP).

Companies, like FuelTech, that provide excellence across the board – great products, amazing innovation, technological excellence, great customer service – all the bells and whistles you could want in a resource for getting the most from your PWC – are rare enough to find.
When you combine all of that, with a company that also puts itself in the forefront of meaningful actions with little or no concrete benefit to themselves, you cull down the club even more. But once again, FuelTech shows that there’s more to a great company than great sales and happy customers as they take the month of November to recognize and honor US Military Veterans and their families, and putting skin in the game by donating a portion of the proceeds from each sale of our FuelTech U.S. Military T-Shirt and Hoodie to the Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO) in Atlanta, Georgia. Read the full press release below.
As we begin National Veterans and Military Families Month this November, FuelTech proudly recognizes the courage, resilience, and sacrifices made by U.S. military service members, veterans, and their families. FuelTech is committed to supporting those who have dedicated themselves to serving our country. This year, we’re taking steps to make a difference by donating a portion of the proceeds from each sale of our FuelTech U.S. Military T-Shirt and Hoodie to the Veterans Empowerment Organization (VEO) in Atlanta, GA.
Honoring Service with a Purpose At FuelTech, we believe that honoring veterans goes beyond words—it requires action. That’s why we’ve chosen VEO, an organization that has been instrumental in providing essential resources to veterans transitioning back to civilian life. With each purchase of our FuelTech U.S. Military T-Shirt and Hoodie, a portion of proceeds will go directly to VEO to assist veterans with housing, job training, mental health support, and career placement.

The Kawasaki STX 160 is a popular jet ski, known for its performance and reliability. However, some owners have noticed recurring issues with the fuel system that can make for a frustrating experience on the water. If you’ve ever experienced unexpected power loss, surging, or trouble getting over half-throttle, you’re not alone. The good news is that these issues aren’t just random—they often trace back to the fuel pump and breather setup, and they’re fixable with a few tweaks.
Kawi Performance recently shared a helpful video breaking down these fuel system quirks and offering some straightforward fixes to get your STX 160 back to its full potential. The root of the problem is usually the small fuel pump Kawasaki uses, which can struggle under higher demands. This can lead to a few annoying symptoms, like stiffening when you hit full throttle, surging in the mid-range, or capping out around 50% throttle.
They also dive into a common issue with the breather system. If the breather isn’t properly aligned, it can create vacuum pressure in the fuel tank, which restricts fuel flow. The video guides you through checking the breather direction and removing the access door to ensure the breather hose isn’t kinked or twisted.
One simple fix they recommend is turning the breather port backward to help prevent water clogging, which can also interfere with the fuel pump.
So, if your STX 160’s performance has been a bit off, Kawi Performance’s video is worth a watch—it might just help you get the smooth, powerful ride you’re looking for!
