Video: Could This Skydiving JetSki Be The World’s Fastest JS550?

According to a cursory search on Google, a person has a terminal velocity of about 200mph when balled up (“cannonball” style) and about 125mph with their arms and legs fully extended to catch the wind. Now, consider that the hull of a vintage Kawasaki JS550 weigh less than 200 pounds when gutted of its powertrain and jet pump. Add that to the weight of a rider, and considering that the flat hull of a JetSki has roughly the same displacement as an adult male outstretched, then we’ve got anywhere between a 130-to-175mph JS550 here.

That folks, is what we’d like to consider the world’s fastest JetSki. Sure, we’re bending the heck out of the rules of definition, but it’s a day away from Friday, two days from Halloween, and frankly, we’re just phoning this one in today. The stunt shown was performed by skydiving experts Aerial Extreme who have coordinated and performed a ridiculous amount of skydiving and BASE jumping stunts.

From riding a bicycle off a 3,000-foot mountain to paddling an inflatable raft out of a plane flying at 13,000 feet, the guys at Aerial Extreme have been featured in movies, television shows and no small amount of air shows. When you watch what these screwballs do here, you’ll know exactly why they’re pros. Enjoy!
