Video: Interview with JetX Powersports Team Rider Jay Edworthy

Amber Wyatt, the host of Boys Toys caught up with JetX Powersports team rider, Jay Edworthy. The two met on a beach in Forth Lauderdale, FL. and discussed what makes a good AquaX racer. Edworthy was more than happy to offer his insights into racing. He talked about the importance of assessing the conditions on the water. A racer must be able to adapt to whatever the water delivers on race day. Aggressive riding is another factor to consider. Some riders prefer to ride harder than others. Edworthy makes it clear that all riders are different and tailor their riding to suit their style. Endurance is one of the most important aspects of competing on the AquaX circuit.

Competitors have to train hard in order for their bodies to meet the demands of racing. If you aren’t fit, you’re gonna quit. He proceeds to discuss how fast some of the boats move in the Pro Class. He says they’re capable of reaching speeds upwards of 80mph, sometimes more. Many racers like a boat that’s loose and forgiving. There’s less opportunity to catch an edge when sliding into a turn. No one wants their machine going one way while their body is going another. You can catch the short clip of the interview with JetX Powersports Rider, Jay Edworthy, here.
