Check out Nathan Joy’s 270 nautical mile ride on his Sea-Doo Fish Pro. His trip was much more than the usual fishing trip we associate with the Fish Pro. Joy set out to explore the Buccaneer Archipelago, which is a group of 1,000 islands off the coast of Western Australia. He packed his Sea-Doo was fully loaded with gear for fishing, camping, and filming. It was rounded out with a full-size cooler packed with food and drinks on the back.
Joy launched his Fish Pro from Cygnet Bay and headed to Cockatoo Island. He was met with a strong east wind shortly after getting underway. The waters calmed as made his across King Sound and to Cockatoo Island. He clocked 50kms on that first leg.
Joy had some killer adventures on his journey. He met up with a tour boat and went SCUBA diving, caught fresh fish for dinner, and did a lot of exploring. The area is absolutely stunning as was the amount of fuel he carried! He had 190 liters of fuel strapped on his ski and another stashed on a boat where he camped.
He spent five nights at sea and traveled 270nm/500km. He lost one drone and a GoPro while out there. The clip is great and our only gripe, is that Joy isn’t wearing a PFD. We are all about safety and do not condone going out on the water without a life jacket.
