United States Naval Special Warfare Command Using PWC

2

Earlier this year, The Watercraft Journal alerted you to a limited run of special-equipped, handbuilt Yamaha WaveRunners from RIVA Racing that were sold for “US Government for military patrol purposes.” Now we have a better idea of their intended use thanks to an article by Forbes.

The United States Naval Special Warfare Command has been using watercraft to rescue wounded special operations officers in battlefields. Using a PWC is the perfect piece of machinery to use in this situation because they can quickly make it to the shore, pick up a wounded officer and then retreat back to safety. Given their small size, they can often times go under radar to protect the operator while preforming the rescue mission.

While the US Navy prefers to use Yamaha FX Cruiser SHO, many other countries use all different sorts of models from different manufactures. The FX Cruiser SHO are however not stock by any means. They are equipped with anti-rollers for added stability and rescue sleds in the rear. On some crafts, for added protection, machine guns are added to help defend off the enemy.

One of the reasons the United States Navy has been so powerful is that they are always looking for new ways to improve. A Florida-based company called Sofwerx is currently working on a prototype where a PWC can be ridden on tops of the water like a normal one but have the ability to submerge into the waves to be hidden. If this prototype proves to be successful, this means they could be able to launch and recover this watercraft from a submarine

RIVA Racing Introduces New Catalog

0

In an effort to expand their dealer network and ultimately end-user customers, RIVA Racing is rolling out a brand new parts catalog with both hard copies and electronic versions.

The new one hundred forty page dealer catalog is printed in full color and features the latest in performance parts, accessories, and apparel items as well as some maintenance and specialty tool-related items.

While it’s not a comprehensive list of RIVA’s full list of offerings, it does focus on performance products and accessories from RIVA and other top industry brands.

Since RIVA has not printed a catalog in over ten years, this new version will be the perfect complement for any customer looking to add more excitement to their ride or everyday apparel swag.

Additionally, since the catalog will be available at all watercraft dealers within the RIVA dealer network, a new customer or someone who may not otherwise be familiar with RIVA Racing products will be able to get an understanding of his or her options when it comes to future upgrades or enhancements to their watercraft purchase.

The catalog is organized and laid out thoughtfully for ease of browsing and selecting parts. We especially like the performance kit section which breaks it down by watercraft manufacturer make and model and gives a side-by-side comparison of each stage kit showing all parts and the respective performance achievements.

This up close side-by-side comparison in both the hard copy and E-version eliminates the need to click back and forth on the website page to compare stage kits and instead the customer has all of the information in plain view.

The only thing that we do not see in the current E-version is pricing on the parts because this is important for most customers who are balancing performance gain goals versus cost however we know prices are subject to changes depending on current promotions and the best way to see current prices will be on the website or to discuss with your local dealer.

For more information about the new catalog, you can read the RIVA excerpt below.

RIVA Racing has released an all-new 140-page, full color printed dealer catalog packed with the latest PWC Performance Products and top accessory brands in the industry. Videos: DockitJet Reveals New Inflatable PWC Tenders

0

While many of the flashier ski boats that are PWC-dockable have been getting quite a bit of attention, inflatable tenders that can receive a PWC are nothing new. Recently, DockitJet introduced a fully-inflatable boat measuring just over 12-feet long (that’s a good 6-and-a-half feet shorter than existing Dockitjet models) while still being able to transport 6 people at up to 25mph.

This innovation suddenly frees up the utility of a personal watercraft in a myriad of ways. Suddenly, your 3-seater runabout can now carry the whole family out for a day, or a few buddies for a day fishing, or any number of other activities otherwise to restricted by a smaller, more nimble PWC.

Conveniently, the inflatable boat can be deflated, folded and packed neatly to the transom of a watercraft for easy transport in and out of the water. Best of all, the new DockitJet tender is designed to accommodate any model of runabout, and the docking process takes just a few short minutes once the tender is inflated.

Add to that, the added stability that the inflatable tender gives the PWC, and the threat of rolling the PWC over is all but non-existent (making it safe and stable for novice riders and “more cautious” boaters). Considering the extra storage the inflated tender provides, a full day or fishing, camping or other adventures are made easy.
