Radinn Carve Named Best Overall Electric Jetboard by DIVEIN Boating

0

DIVEIN Boating released its list of  10 Best Electric Surfboards in 2023 and the Radinn Carve received top honors with the Radinn Freeride coming in fourth. The Carve is the top of line with its ability to perform and literally carve like a knife through the water with ease. Add a pair of foot straps, and you can take the air.

DIVEIN Boating calls riding it a totally awesome experience and it’s a great performance board. The Radinn Carve gives the rider the capability to take their riding experience to the next level.

With its twin fins, you can easily set your rail when turning, weaving across the water, or dropping in on a wave. Remove the fins for a looser ride, which will be a little challenging at first. You can slide across the water and pull off some spins by going finless.

Radinn Electric Jetboards offer more battery time and faster speeds than other electric jetboards. The boards are quiet and well built. The Carve is shorter than the fourth ranked Radinn Freeride, giving it the edge when it comes to performance and playfulness.

The Freeride was tops for beginners with its ease of riding while the Carve was named best overall.

“The Radinn Carve is one that deserves comparatively more praise for its design and-primarily-the experience you get carving through the water. The Carve has one of the best systems we’ve seen of all jetboards out there”-DIVEIN Boating.

Unlimited PWC Signs Valentina Lezcano and Christopher Landis for 2023

0

We were scoping out Unlimited PWC’s Instagram when we spotted Valentina wearing some sharp looking new Unlimited gear. Upon further investigation, we tracked down Lezcano’s Instagram and Facebook accounts for more details. We discovered she and Christopher Landis would sign with Unlimited Racing for the 2023 season. Lezcano stated, “We are proud to announce that we will be signing with Unlimited Racing for the 2023 season. We both were looking for a company to give us that extra edge in our program and Unlimited stepped up huge for us.”

We are stoked for them too and we want to tell you about the gear they are wearing in the photos. Lezcano and Landis are outfitted in the Unlimited Rush line.

Lezcano is wearing the Competition Coat in ash white. It is available in black and red as well. This is the perfect coat to wear with your wetsuit in the fall and winter months.

The Competition Coat isn’t your average tour coat. It has a tighter body line and allows for freedom of movement when riding. Wrists are fitted with a Velcro enclosure to keep you free to operate the accelerator.

The coat is made of 2.5mm flex chloroprene with a high neck and hood to protect you from the wind and cold. It is long enough to cover your lower back when you sit down.

We like that it doesn’t ride up when you sit. Both riders are wearing the 2023 Unlimited Rush Set in Ash White with a matching lifejacket. The Rush Wet Pants and Rush Wetsuits John and all the details can be found on the Unlimited PWC website.

Congratulations to Valentina and Christopher for this great partnership and opportunity!

Gallery: Easy SeaDek Install For a Triton Trailer Walking Plank

0

I recently purchased a second Sea-Doo and needed a dual trailer to transport our skis to and from the water. I personally am a huge fan of the aluminum trailers seeing that we are mainly riding in brackish and salt water in and around the Atlantic Ocean.

I have owned a few Triton single trailers and year after year they still look like new and tow amazingly. So going with a a dual-bunk Triton Elite trailer with the torsion axle was a no-brainer. These trailers come with an aluminum center walking plank, which is welded to the center cross beam making accessing your PWC easy. But we all know when aluminum gets wet, it’s slippery.

With that said, Jerry and Greg Gaddis of Greenhulk.net and I were discussing how we should look into using SeaDek matting on the center plank for traction. I measured the center plank on our trailer and sent the measurements to Jerry and BAM! SeaDek did not disappoint! Made from CNC-cut PSA material, the pad is double-sided with an easy-to-apply peel-and-stick adhesive making for a smooth application.

First your going to need a good cleaning solution. I used CLR while wearing gloves for skin protection and wiped the surface clean using clean paper towels. Then, taking dry clean paper towels, I dried it off entirely and let sit for ten minutes. Then I took the heat gun as shown and began to heat the surface. Today was a humid 62 degree day and I just wanted to make sure the adhesive had a good surface to adhere too.

I peeled back about two feet of the paper backing and began to put the traction mat down. As I placed the mat down, I pushed hard against it, pressing out any air bubbles taking my time, because once its down, its down. As I moved down the plank I heated and pressed until I peeled off all the backing and placed it down in its entirety! I was very happy with the end result; whether wearing shoes or barefoot the SeaDek is grippy wet or dry.

I can not thank Jerry and Greg Gaddis of Greenhulk.net enough for ordering this in for me and for SeaDek for providing a quality product! You can not go wrong with this safety measure that looks cool too!

Make Waves with Radinn Rider Jeremy McKane

0

Jeremy McKane is an underwater cinematographer, tech entrepreneur, artist, and philanthropist. Most of all, he’s a guy who loves the ocean and does a lot to protect it. He started The Ocean Currency Network, an Ethereum Blockchain solution which measures and quantifies the value of marine protected areas using tech and AI. He went even further in 2019 and founded the Ultramine Ocean Action Summit.

This endeavor brought a diverse group of people together to talk and come up with solutions to protect our oceans. McKane’s goal is to inspire others to find their passion for protecting the world’s oceans. In the words of Jacques Cousteau “people will protect what they love, but they cannot love what they don’t understand.”

McKane has aligned his vision with Cousteau’s and that is to get people out there and to teach them to love it. That’s where Radinn Electric Jetboards come into play. Radinn Jetboards are perfect for getting people out there and having fun while learning about the ocean.

McKane says “there’s a certain comfort level for somebody who’s just getting used to the ocean. Trying to understand the dynamics of the currents and all these things. The Radinn is the perfect entry point to help take people to the next level. It has the capability of creating a navy of ocean conservationists.” Another cool thing about riding a Radinn Jetboard is that you don’t even need surf to ride, just give the wireless hand controller a squeeze and make your own waves!

Gallery: Easy Guide to Installing Kspeed’s 5th Hole Air Intake Kit (Video)

0

Fresh air is always important. With your PWC, the more fresh air coming in and hot air leaving the engine bay, the better scenario it creates for performance, and better conditions for engine life.

We had the opportunity to install the Kspeed 5th Hole Air Intake Kit on a 2020 Kawasaki Ultra 310X. We were excited to to get this installed as there does not seem to be many recreational riders that have this modification.

Above left: Remove the front cluster access panel with a screwdriver or rivet removal tool. Above right: Remove the starboard side (opposite side of the fuel filler) panel cover. There are 3 nut and bolt assemblies.

Above: Use the 5th air vent to mark the hull where you need to cut the 3-inch (70mm hole). Pay attention to to tabs where the rivets will go and drill the rivets with the 5mm drill.

The Kspeed 5th Hole Air Intake Kit will increase the amount of available fresh cool air into the hull/engine bay and increase induction noise. When installed properly, it creates a clean and stealthy location.

You will only need a few tools: 10mm spanner wrench, 10mm socket and ratchet, flat head screwdriver, 3” or 70mm hole saw, drill, 5mm drill bit and rivet gun – Kspeed also recommends using a dusk mask when using the hole saw and a vacuum when cutting the hole to clean any dust and fiberglass.

Above: Remove the ECU access panel and the ECU bracket. It is held with plastic tree clips; pull it. It is recommended to place a sheet or something of that nature under where you will be drilling to catch the fiberglass and dust.

Above left: Using the hole saw, drill the hole where marked. Above right: Use a vacuum to clean up the mess that cutting the fiberglass made.

The 5th hole needs to be installed on the opposite side of the fuel filler. Once removing the front and rear seats, the following is how you install the Kspeed 5th Hole Air Intake Kit.

It really is that easy! After installation we were quite thrilled to hear some additional induction sound and we think you will enjoy it, also.

Above: Install the gasket and the 5th hole vent and rivet into place.

Above: Affix the duct pipe and hose clamp to the back end of the duct, using the ECU access panel to get behind. Reinstall all removed parts.

New Images of Cigarette Racing’s Prototype Turbo-Charged PWC

0

Over the past year-and-a-half there has been no less than a baker’s dozen announced developments of all-new personal watercraft from very unlikely sources (and a few industry mainstays) that frankly, just didn’t seem all that likely to come to fruition.

And hey, that’s OK. Posting up a digital rendering of a twin-turbo, 90mph all carbon fiber one-seater runabout is gonna drum up some quick and easy attention on social media. We get it. But will this fabled $80,000 jet ski be actually made? Chances are unlikely at best.

So when famed offshore race boat manufacturer Cigarette Racing announced a similar “dream ski” at last year’s Miami Boat Show people were certainly stirred up. Even The Watercraft Journal took the bait and quickly reached out to the company’s media manager.

We published everything we received during a short discourse promising an insane, overpowered and lightweight race craft priced above most people’s daily-driven commuter car. Then fatefully, the company went radio-silent. Oh well, we figured. There goes another one.

Then Big Thunder Marine published these three images that we couldn’t see anywhere on Cigarette’s own social media – no seriously, we checked their Facebook and multiple Instagram pages. So how this dealer from Lake of the Ozarks got these images we have no idea.

But what is shown is the early stages of a lower hull, an early setup for the engine and drivetrain, as well as an adjustable sponson. Powered by a turbocharged 3-cylinder four-stroke engine, the Cigarette Racing PWC looks to be in a traditional arrangement contrary to the early dual jet pump configuration teased last year.

Yamaha WaveRunners Recognized by National Marine Manufacturers Association

0

Yamaha WaveRunners scooped up another award for excellent customer satisfaction for the 7th year in a row. Yamaha Watercraft was recognized for its outstanding customer satisfaction during the Industry Breakfast at the 2023 Miami International Boat Show. The Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) is the industry’s top honor for customer satisfaction and out of 57 recipients across 14 categories, Yamaha is the only personal watercraft brand to be recognized by the NMMA for its exceptional customer satisfaction.

With Yamaha leading the way within global marine brands and having the number one selling jet boat brand, it’s no wonder they received the CSI award for the 7th year in a row. The company offers the most complete line of personal watercraft in the United States with a stand-up model and two- and three-seater models available. In the last two decades, Yamaha is the only jet boat and personal watercraft to have received a CSI Award from the NMMA.

This award is given to boat and engine manufacturers who actively measure customer satisfaction and strive to provide the best customer service throughout the year. They must be in the 90% or higher range when it comes to customer satisfaction surveys. Yamaha WaveRunners and Boats met and exceeded the challenge.

“As recreational boating continues to welcome an influx of new boaters, we are committed to providing ever-improving experiences for new and existing boat owners before, during, and after their time spent on the water,” said Robert Newsome, senior vice president of operations for NMMA. “We applaud these boat and engine manufacturers for creating an exceptional purchase journey and product to ensure an outstanding experience that creates a life-long love of boating for boaters worldwide.”
